"...black like my soul on a sunny day."

I turned nineteen at ten something in the morning today, and I wrote a line in [hopefully :paranoid:] iambic pentameter. Yay me.
--------------
My birthday is this Sunday. It makes me feel very sad.

I get cheesecake, though. :]

Happy [early] Thanksgiving, Americans (for those who enjoy said holiday).

OneRepublic's new album (regular version, not the deluxe)... such a disappointment! It doesn't even compare to their first album. Why is it that the first album of a band or artists is usually the best? :c I also finally got around to buying "Unfairytales" by Mushi - not that anyone cares, because hardly anyone even knows who he is.

I think everyone should read Hilda Morley. Her poems = I want her first collection of poetry (A Blessing Outside Us) <3

Help me? :c

What do you normally do to break away from a creative block?

You see, I am stuck for NaNoWriMo and my word count is WAY behind. If I were able to maintain 2,420 words for so many days, I would be able to catch up. I did well yesterday, but today I have met with Writer's Block for the third or fourth time. It's frustrating. :[

I have been listening to 'inspiring' music, picturing my characters in everday and weird situations, and dropping by the threads in NaNo's plot developing forum... Bah! Nothing is working for me. |: I have even considered teaching my MC how to play the violin... Then I realized that I learned how to play the viola instead (which I don't remember how to play anymore). Pfft.

Any ideas, possible twists, a line or two for a character(s) to say, something for a character to do, a scenario, etc., would help if you have some. (:

I had a mild case of Swine Flu last month, and I have to say: I have definitely felt sicker than that. o_O

I wanted to see how it looked :B (Coffee is delicious.) How is everyone? I know many of you are going to get journal updates from people because of this... I already am. XD Dunno how to get rid of the empty "LINKS" or the stamps on the side either, so ignore them!

My current NaNoWriMo word count: 9,035. I should be at 15,000 words by the end of today if I want to catch up, but I somehow doubt that I will. I should have most of the sixteenth of this month to myself, so I hope I don't get distracted and work on other things. ;P

I have a horrid excerpt on both my NaNo profile (as do most NaNoers on the site) and my latest blogspot entry. The story is going horribly, though. I forgot my entire plot because I'm a dumbutt and didn't write it down. I've been writing out certain segments that I am more or less positive I want to be in my novel. In any case, Emelie's (my MC) best friend's character, Cassie, is super fun to write about. She's a girl with massive self-esteem problems and gets off by being a pompous snot head. Love it <3 I'm also planning on inserting a male character who's delusioned himself into believing that him and Emelie are soul mates.

Writing about weird, snobby, and/or crazy people is very entertaining, and I think I enjoy it a little too much.

I didn't plan on making another journal until December or January, but DevArt is allowing all deviants to try out CSS until the 29th (they go away on my birthday! :ohnoes:). Obviously, I wanted to make a snazzy journal entry, and so I found this coffee one. :]

Anyway. (: I found this while browsing... I deleted the bulk of it just because I didn't feel like writing it all out. It's another lame and pointless "what planet would you be?" kinda thing. ;\

^ Pictures and a video. I tried to upload the video directly, but it's too big for Blogspot to process. Then I tried to upload it via Youtube, which worked, but then Blogspot keeps blocking the code to embed the video. D8< And the video is crappy anyway, but I got it linked from Blogspot to Youtube. ;_;

Every time I turn my computer off and turn it back on, all my history is erased. Does anyone know how I'd make this stop? I've been using IE version 8. (I dislike Foxfire.) I also have Safari (rarely use it), but that's never really saved my history anyway. I cleared my history about a week ago for IE, but this is something I've done before and I haven't had this problem before... =/

I thought this was a small, fun thing to do. It's like that "say eight random facts about yourself" tag that's (still) going around, ONLY IT'S TEN.

1. I have a Facebook account to keep in touch with people, but I hate social networking sites. I find that most people add others they hardly know/knew, let alone ever talked to (or don't know at all) as part of their friends list, and I think that's extremely shallow. D: (I also like using Facebook for its quizzes :B)
2. I have become a huge coffee addict. I'm trying to combat this by drinking lemon water. It's semi-working.
3. I'm Norwegian, Swedish, German, and French, and I looove making and eating Julekake!
4. The only kind of shoes you will ever find me wearing, unless it's for gym class, are flats and black boots.
5. The only reason I envy my mom's dad is because he's smart when it comes to science and math. I curse the Plancks for not lending me their smart gene. :[ (Although I'm glad we don't share the same last name xD)
6. Yes, my REAL and NATURAL hair color is blonde! Most people think I'm a natural brunette, and I'm not sure why. I don't like to dye my hair.
7. Lavender is my favorite color and scent. Next up is blue followed by pink.
8. My bedroom mainly consists of pink and purple for dominating colors.
9. I love rain, grey clouds, the smell of cold, crisp air... ;D
10. I want Alex Kapranos to date me, please.

...And they never have been! 0: (Is something wrong with their advertising department? I wonder. It's like they think dragging out a bad joke will somehow make it funny...)

Even though it’s a published book, finding two different people (or maybe it’s the same person...) trying to sell my great-grandpa’s poetry book on Amazon feels... disrespectful. They’re going for $15, one new and one used (last I checked, anyway), and since I was extremely close to him growing up, finding this on the web after his death doesn’t seem or feel right to me. He is not a well-known poet, and, in fact, poetry wasn’t his main hobby. In any regard, a countless number of copies were made about two years back for his memorial service and they were passed out for free.

We have speculations that it might be my great-uncle trying to sell them since he’s an opportunist and it’s stereotypical of him, but it is a bit ridiculous no matter who it is. (The book has never been well circulated, either, and I don’t think a great deal of people have ever had the chance to read it, so AGAIN: why sell it? I don’t see it being a money-maker...)

Also, we all know people’s drawings, painting, photographs, photomanips, and whatnot are stolen quite frequently here on Devart as well as other sites. Finding a poem or prose that’s been "stolen" or "taken" (or whatever word you see fits best) without due credit has usually been difficult for me to find on the Internet until I thought, “I’LL JUST TYPE IN LINES AND PHRASES ON GOOGLE.” Soooo much easier. I only did this with some of my poems and found that one person has the first poem I put up here (which I had deleted from DA a few weeks back) on his or her Xanga. Said person doesn’t say who wrote it but he/she isn't claiming it as his/her own, either. In fact, I’d rather leave it that way! XD It was the first poem I ever wrote, and it’s quite embarrassing. xP

As an ending note, I AM SUPER EXCITED FOR BUMBERSHOOT. I’ve never cared to go before because I don’t typically surround myself with crowds of people willfully, and I haven’t been interested in the lineups either. BUT! Franz Ferdinand and Modest Mouse… on the same day? No way am I missing that! It’s too bad, though, that Metric has been lined up to play the same time as Modest Mouse. I’m more of a Metric Fan, but I don’t think the person/people (???) who is/are coming with me is/are.
